Location: Narrabri Mine Site , New South Wales Mine Manager - Underground Coal - The Mine Manager is accountable for the safe , efficient and cost-effective operations of Whitehaven Coal's $500M longwall mine , Narrabri North. The Mine Manager will direct the underground mining team covering safety , production , engineering and cost. Reporting to the General Manager - Underground , the specific responsibilities include: . developing a culture of safety and risk management; . managing the operations leadership team; . designing and implementing systems and processes; . achieving production and cost targets; . planning and implementing innovations and business improvements. This is an outstanding opportunity to play a fundamental role in the continued growth of this mine and in setting standards of excellence in mining operations. The role will appeal to an experienced leader with a successful background in underground coal operations. Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering and / or associated disciplines are prime requirements. Statutory qualifications at First Class / Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency level are also essential.
